Beti Brown is a birth worker, 'hoose herbalist' and community educator who combines traditional folk wisdom and practices with modern western herbal medicine to empower people and communities to support their own good health and wellbeing. Beti's herbal practice is informed by her experience with chronic illness as well as her involvement with activism on many fronts including sex workers' labour rights, solidarity with Palestine and against austerity. Beti now works with Amma Birth Companions supporting vulnerable and marginalised birthing people in Glasgow- most of whom are or have been in the asylum system. She also makes and sells herbal remedies and facilitates workshops and foraging walks.
